The screen kept going black, would only work when tilted, and in certain angles.

The screen is working perfectly now. It did take me a whole day, and included a lot of swearing but considering I have never fixed or tinkered with any electronics before it went remarkably well. I had a bit of a scary moment when I lost a screw that disappeared inside the computer but I managed to get it out, also missed one step in the instructions that said to remove a couple of screws and where a bit brutal with the speaker as it wouldn't come out (because I hadn't removed the screws).
The instructions are brilliant, thank you so much for sharing. Without your help I would have had to scrap a perfectly good computer as nobody wanted to repair it deeming it too old. Thanks again.

Follow the instructions and get the right tools. Prepare and be thorough and take your time marking every single screw. I had a plastic pot for every set of screws, and I sellotaped all the screws to a post-it, marking which should go where, and at what step.
