Place the car jack on the jacking point, located on the passenger side behind the front wheel. Raise the car high enough to place the jack stand under the car. Make sure the stand will have solid contact with the car frame.

  • The emergency jack has an opening on the top of it. The jacking point has a lip and is at the edge of the car (boxed in the photo). The lip of the jacking point should fit into the opening on the jack.

  • Emergency jacks like the one shown in the photo are not safe to use for routine maintenance. Use a floor jack with the proper weight rating and an adapter that is appropriate for your vehicle.

  • Slowly lower the car onto the jack stand.

  • Never work under a car jack only. Car jacks may slip or fail.
