-[* black] As were [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjUmULa0R-8|storming the Castle|new_window=true] display, we quickly find something unfamiliar: a springy metal bracket pinning the display connector in place. We work quickly, lifting the bracket to free the cable.
-[* black] In a quick IC tailgate party we have some display chips:

-[* black] Joining the party is a small contact board piece. Because, why not?

It's not the friendliest of chums, but with a little convincing from our spudger, it agrees to let the connector go.
+[* black] At the other end of the cable, another dubious connector with a tiny speck of a contact board in tow. Because, why not?
+[* red] Hugging the back of the display is N-trig's DS-P4196 touchscreen controller, providing the necessary tech to go with the pressure-sensitive Surface Pen.
