[* black] What's a potentiometer, you ask? Good question.
[* black] A potentiometer is a special resistor that has multiple terminals and an adjustable voltage divider.
- [* black] A mechanical action, in this case the movement of the joystick, adjusts the voltage divider, allowing different voltages to flow through each terminal. The difference in voltages is "read" at each terminal to determine how much you are tilting the joystick.
