    • Take care when removing the fan vent not to break any of the plastic clips.

    • Rotate the spudger away from the console, prying the edge of the fan vent up until the two plastic clips come free.

    • Be sure to rotate the spudger far enough so that the plastic clips clear the silver rim of the top bezel.

    This step is and the others following are to rough and not needed, simply put smth in between the lamellar and push it up with littlebit pressure thats better for the plastic parts.

    • Continue prying along the left side of the device, freeing all the clips on that side.

    • You will hear a "pop" signifying that the clip cleared its catch.

    So I got the fan filter thing off, but the black edge plate thing isn't coming off. All I did was warp my flathead screwdriver and scratch the console.

My Slim came without the wifi board, and subsequently without the holding screw.

Anyone know the thread, size, or depth of a replacement screw I could use to hold the replacement in? It seems like it won't go anywhere with the pseudo-USB connector in place, but I'd like to be positive.

Any help would be appreciated!

Tuve ese mismo problema. Fui a una tienda y el técnico tuvo que quitarle la tarjeta de WiFi a otro xbox porque no hay repuesto

Worth noting.. Before you purchase a new wifi card, try taking it out and reseating it. Just had to do that with mine when the wifi suddenly stopped working. Once I pulled the card and put it back in, it worked beautifully.

Also, for clarification, you are opening the side OPPOSITE the side with the hard drive.
