Unlocking is useful if you want to bring your smartphone to a new carrier.

Make sure the phone will prompt and ask you for a network code when a different or non-supported network SIM card is inserted and the attempts counter is not 0 .

You must send 15-digit IMEI number (tape *#06# from the dial app to see it) and the original network provider.

Power off your Nokia Lumia.
Insert an unaccepted SIM card.
Once the SIM Unlock box appears, provide the unique 20-digit unlock code that you received.
That's all.

You have to buy it. Google for an unlock code for your model Nokia and network provider.
