Mr. Coffee power cord replacement for Model BVMC SC12BL1

The bottom plate of the coffee maker contains one screw. The screw requires a 4 mm Y tip screwdriver with a shaft length at least 1.5 inches.

Use a screw driver to push the rectangular tabs that are secured in the rectangular holes at the back of the unit. Then run a pick in the seam of the base from the back to the front which releases the base.

Cut the cord off the outside of the unit near the cord strain relief. This cut cord will be used as the replacement power cord.

The power cord attaches to high temperature wires inside the unit. Cut where the high temperature wires connect to the power cord.

Inside the unit, strip the plastic insulation off of the wires that are being replaced. Then pull out the copper wires.

Removal of the copper allows easier removal of the strain relief which must be compressed and pulled out from the outside of the unit.

Place the recovered cord through the strain relief making sure that the internal cord length will be long enough to attach to the high temperature wires.

Attach crimp connectors to the high temperature wires.

Crimp the connectors to the power cord.

Use a heat gun to shrink the heat shrink tubing around the crimped connectors.

Snap the bottom plate back on the unit and reattach the screw.
