Lid lock system malfunctioning and possible solutions

Start by unscrewing the two Tork 10 screws beneath the lid assemly. They are positioned in the back of the assembly.

Dislodge two plastic clips located on the left and right of the lid. They are position on the top face of the lid, near the center.

Remove the lid back cover

At the back end of the lid, near where the water resevoir would be, you'll see some larger wires, a clear plastic tube and some smaller wires.

The smaller wires run inside a plastic holder, note how there's a similar piece protruding on the other side of the lid assembly.

These two plastic pieces are linked to the lid mechanism by two small and fragile cilinders, protruding from their sides.

The cylinders slide into a guide located near the hinge of the lid. By opening and closing the lid the cylinders make the two plastic pieces slide back and forth. Based on the pieces position the lid is locked or unlock and can or cannot rotate.

If your lid is stuck open or closed, try pulling on the plastic pieces using a pair of pliers.

Pulling the pieces unlocks the the rotation of the lid.

Try rotate the lid while pulling on the plastic pieces. This should disegnage the lock.
