This guide will also show you how to adjust your brake pads to be “toed-in” (the brake pads will be positioned in such a way that the front part of the brake pad will make contact before the back half) to reduce further wear on the brake pads as well as increase their effectiveness.

Loosen the brake pads from the calipers using a 10mm wrench.
You will need to repeat this step for the second brake pad located on the other side of the wheel.

Remove the brake pads from the calipers.

Clean the surface of the brake pad with a cloth or water if necessary.
The surface of the rims where the brake pads make contact may also need to be cleaned.

Reattach the brake pads to the calipers and tighten them with the 10mm wrench so that the leading edge of the brake sits closer to the rim than the rear edge.
