Dip the stained fabric in bowl of cold water.
Massage the stain while submerged for about 20 seconds to ensure that it is fully saturated.

Pour laundry detergent or dish soap into bowl.
Amount poured should equate to approximately 1/2 cup (120ml). Larger stains may require higher quantities.

Wet a clean, dry cloth or sponge in the bowl.

Rubbing the stain may further spread it and/or embed it deeper in the fabric.
