简介

This guide will aid in realigning door hinges. Over time door hinges can become misaligned from the weight of the door which can cause them to become harder to open/close; or they won't close at all.

With this guide, you can realign your door hinge and not have to buy new ones and replace them every few years, resulting in fewer door hinges being improperly thrown away in the garbage and ending up in landfills. Learning to repair instead of replace is a good lesson we can all put into practice more so that we can reduce worldwide waste.

Grab an unaligned door.
Either you or a person who is helping hold the door up to the desired position.

Grab a hammer and a screwdriver.
Hold the screwdriver up to the pin.
Hold the hammer below the screwdriver.
Knock the pin out of the hinge by banging the screwdriver using the hammer.

Drop the pin back into the hinge using the hammer.
If the pin gets stuck this means that the knuckles need to be bent back into place.
Using pliers bend whichever knuckles need adjusting.
Keep bending the knuckles until the pin drops back into place without getting stuck.

To test if the door is back in place, just open and close the door to make sure that the door is in the position you want and functioning correctly.
