简介
Occasionally, the Whirlpool fridge does not dispense ice properly. There are five main causes of this issue:
- the auger, or ice crusher, not turning
- a malfunctioning logic board
- the motor not running properly
- multiple ice cubes dispensing at the same time
- ice melting and then refreezing at the end of the dispensing chute where the temperature is slightly warmer than the rest of the chute.
This guide only addresses causes 4 and 5. Before performing the steps in this guide, make sure that the motor is running, the auger is turning, and there is ice in the ice bucket to eliminate the possibility of the first three causes.
This guide will work for most Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerators. The guide is written with a GD5SHAXKQ00 model. If you have a different model, you may encounter some minor procedural differences, but the overall repair process will be the same.
你所需要的
-
-
Turn the infrared sensor switch to "off."
-
-
-
-
Return the ice bucket to the freezer.
-
If the ice bucket does not seat securely, rotate the auger slightly.
-
Once the auger is aligned with the motor coupler, place the ice bucket on top of the motor surface.
-
Let the ice bucket cool for 10-15 minutes to cool to its original temperature. This will prevent ice from clogging the dispensing chute once the ice maker is turned on.
-
If you chose to preserve the original ice in Step 3, return it to the ice bucket once the ice has cooled.
