Loosen the two captive 8 mm screws in the back cover using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

Remove the six 6 mm screws from the back cover using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.
When removing the final screw, hold the assembly together. There is a spring inside the device which will pop the assembly apart when all the screws are removed.

Carefully separate the two sections, leaving them connected by the wires.

Remove the buttons by de-soldering them from the wires they are attached to or from the mother board. Refer to the soldering guide here.
