This guide is for replacing the top and bottom speakers, which HTC calls the dual speakers. Make sure you have a good area to work and plenty of time.

  1. Insert the end of a paper clip into the holes on each side of the phone to eject the SIM card and Micro SD card. Set the cardholders aside. Set the cardholders aside.

  11. Use the pointed end of the spudger to pop off the four antenna connectors. Three are located on the top left corner of the motherboard and one on the bottom right.   14. Use the flat end of the plastic spudger to pry the lower speaker out. Holding the phone, pull the speaker to the right pulling the connector out of the board.

  16. Peel off the yellow tape covering the power button connector using the pointed end of the spudger. Pop up the white tab on the ribbon cable connector for the power button located on the top right of the phone.

  17. Using a PH000 Phillips screwdriver, remove the four 1mm screws from the upper logic board. Using the flat end of the spudger, pop the top speaker's plastic cover off. Lift out the board with the camera and set it aside for reassembly.

  18. Using a 2 mm flat head screwdriver, pry out and remove the top speaker from the phone.

    • It is easy to pry the speaker apart rather than pry the whole thing out. So be careful to only pry on the metal plate and not the plastic siding of the speaker.
