Thanks for the guides, but the outer shell can be disassembled further. The top part with the magnets can be opened up. This gives access to the hinge parts.

My case had a pin for the hinge shift from it's position (Making it useless) and the spring for the closing mechanism hat to be reset to it's original position. To do that I had to open up the upper part of the case. This was possible by prying it open with a jimmy from the front and shifting the tool to the sides. The pin could easily be reset with some tweezers. The spring was a bit more of a fight but it worked out.

I use the buds somewhat recklessly and they are just about 6 months old, so I suspect the hinge is mechanically the weakest part with many complaints to come. Perhaps you could extend this guide with a hinge repair?

I'm going to second what "thescheff" said above.

My hinge started opening and closing crooked today. I thought something plastic had broken off but after reading thescheff's comment I looked closer and it appears that the pin has shifted to one side and is no longer inside the bottom half of the case shell on one side.

A guide on how to open the shell further and realign the pin and spring may not be a terrible idea. Whilst the shell is easily replaceable, it seems a waste to throw away if it is something as simple as shifting a pin back into place.

Following up my previous comment, in the hopes it helps somebody later on. I managed to pry open the upper part of the shell similarly to how "thescheff"described it above "jimmy from the front and shifting the tool to the sides".

The hinge has a pin on either side, so it's really simple to reach in with a small flat tool (I used a small flatheaded screwdriver) to push the pin back into place whilst making sure to align the upper and lower halves of the shell. I didn't attempt anything with the spring as it wasn't needed.

Removing the shell and replacing it is really easy. It isn't much harder to open the shell further and realign the hinge pins if one side starts coming out. I should note though that I did crack the inner part of the upper shell, but that was mmore than likely as I was trying to pry it up rather than sliding the tool round the side. The crack doesn't affect the product in anyway.
