Canon PowerShot SD780 IS LCD Screen Replacement

This will show you how to replace the LCD screen on the back of your camera.

    • Begin by making sure that the camera is turned off and that the battery is removed as to avoid any shock injuries.

    • With the battery removed, you can begin removing the outermost screws from the camera to allow for case replacement, while keeping track of where each screw comes from. There are (5) screws in total. This will require a Philips head # 00 screwdriver.

    • There are (2) screws located on the left side of the camera. These screw locations are depicted with the red circle markings in the second photo of this step. These screws are 2 mm long.

    • Remove the front panel of the camera case to expose the top left copper strip. Gently pull said strip upward and disconnect it from the camera.

    • Then, remove the screw on the far left-hand side of the camera as indicated in the photo.

    • Now that you have removed all of the screws, carefully pull the case apart at the seam. The case will detach from the camera in two pieces.

    • Then, remove the indicated "L" shaped bracket from around the top and right sides of the LCD screen.

    • Insert the flat side of your spudger tool carefully into the top of the LCD screen and lift the screen free.
