These headphones are great and really comfortable. I replaced my battery a few years ago with a battery that I bought on eBay with the same 3.7V 140mAH specs that came with the headphones originally. However, this replacement, like the original, has very limited battery life - only a handful of hours (perhaps 3-6). Sometimes surprises me with low battery warnings when I think it should have sufficient charge. Hence, I'm looking at another replacement. When I look on Amazon now (Oct 2025), I see batteries advertised that appear to be compatible but with much larger capacity (350mAH). Do the authors know if the larger batteries are indeed compatible? My model was initially marketed as the AE2w and then renamed AE Soundlink and feature the huge detachable bluetooth module seen in the above photos. My concern is that there might be another wireless model also called the AE2 that has the receiver within the ear cup and with more physical space for a larger battery than my model couldn't accommodate.
Hey,
I’m in the same place that you are. I bought the 350 mah from reference from others that used it yo fix their headphones but the battery is too large for the bluetooth module, it wont fit. I think the comments and references talk about newer headphones that hace the bluetood module built in, not like ours that can be removed.
I hope this gets you on time and save you some troubles. It’s ok to look for a battery with a bigger capacity than 140mah, just make sure it has a similar size than the original.

Thanks for the information, Cesar... It seems we can conclude that the replacement battery we need is fundamentally limited by its physical dimensions in addition to its technical specs. I suspect that my hope of finding a battery with a higher capacity and, effectively, longer battery life well be futile if it must also conform to the same physical footprint... because physics. Oh, well, I guess the tiny 140mAH option will have to suffice. Shame.
If anyone is clever enough to squeeze a higher capacity battery into the Bluetooth module, please leave a comment with the battery details, I'm sure there are many people other than myself who would appreciate it.
