    • With the same plastic opening tool, lift the motherboard up and out.

    • Remove the motherboard assembly from left to right, using caution near the audio jack on the right side of the device.

    • Using a spudger, lift the ribbon band in the upper right-hand corner up and away from the motherboard assembly until it disconnects.

    • Turn the motherboard assembly over.

    • Starting at the lower corners of the screen, begin to lift the screen away from the motherboard using the spudger.

    • Do this step very slowly to avoid breaking the screen or the motherboard. The backing will eventually separate.

    • Remove the plastic bit that hides the speaker grill - it is stuck with double-sided tape.

    • With a thin blade/pin, ease the speaker grill and the metal plate away from the old lcd screen.
