This guide will assist you to remove the cooling fan from your Asus G501JW-BHI7N12 in order to replace it. A faulty fan could be causing overheating issues in your laptop, so replacing your fans or cleaning the dust out from the fans could be a good way to cool your laptop down.

  1. Attach anti static wrist strap to your hand and clip to the laptop case.

  2. Unscrew and remove the four 5mm Phillips #0 screws from the cooling fan.

  3. Remove 4 pin connector from mother board.

  4. Slide cooling fan out from underneath the copper heat sink.

    • The cooling fan will be clipped to the case, we suggest pulling it toward the front of the case. Using the spudger can be helpful to work the fan loose.

  5. One of the fans will have a connector that partially covers it.  Pull the connector loose by flipping up the plastic clamps on both ends and follow steps 2-4.
