简介

The mass air flow sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine. When the MAF sensor does not work correctly, the engine computer miscalculates the amount of fuel for the engine leading to several possible driveability issues.

The sensor is located between the engine air filter and the intake manifold of the engine, on the backside of the air intake box.

This manual will show how to replace the MAF sensor through a disassembly of the air intake box.

Use the 10mm socket to disconnect the negative terminal first.
Disconnect the positive terminal next, also with the 10mm.

Unscrew the 10mm bolts.
Remove the push rivet with the flathead.
Unclip the cable from the bracket. Use the plyers to press the lock from beneath and pull the clip loose.
Pull back the clasps connecting the air intake box to the rest of the intake system.

Grab the box at the left side and pull up and towards the right to pull the top part of air intake box out.
Pull the intake pipe up and out.

Use the 10mm socket to unscrew the bolt attaching the purge valve solonoid to the airbox outlet.
Unclip the solonoid electrical cable from the airbox outlet. Use a screwdriver to press in the clip, while pulling from the other side.

Push the yellow cable connector clip up.
Carefully pull out the cable connector from the sensor.

With the 7mm socket, loosen the cable clamp holding the airbox outlet to the manifold intake hose.
Remove the airbox outlet from the engine bay.
With the Phillips screwdriver, undo the screws attaching the sensor to the airbox outlet.
Carefully pull out the sensor.
