我们拿出了去年的 P20 Pro 放在华为最新的拍照神童旁边快速比较一下：

P30 Pro（左边/底部）比起前一代长了 3 mm，薄了 0.61 mm还窄了一点（0.5 mm）

尽管 Home 键和听筒格栅消失在屏幕后面，P30 Pro 还是高了一些。

电源键和音量键依然在原位置。

沿着手机底部的边缘，我们看到了 USB-C 接口还在，原本对称的扬声器孔被砍掉一组腾出位置给 SIM 卡槽。
Wasn’t paying attention and i put the sim eject tool in the hole in the top right. Have i damaged my device? What is that hole for?
No worries. That’s a hole for the top microphone. And you did not damage that either since it is installed at an angle like the micrphone on the bottom (step 9). Everything should still work fine.

随着拆解进手机内部，我们现在直奔手机相机组件。首先拆出潜望式相机组件，其甚至可以支持到50倍的变焦功能。

不过这个组件并不会在1-5倍变焦区间内启用，只会在5倍变焦后的区间内使用。

P30 Pro有着5枚相机组件，左侧从上到下分别是20 MP的超广角相机，40 MP的广角相机及其旁TOF相机，8 MP长焦相机，以及右上角的前置32 MP相机。
There is a shielding clip over the connector for the top back camera connector, it seems the planned removal procedure is to slide it towards the bottom of phone - freeing it from the top mounting thingy.
Before the next person stumbles over that and lifts the pad like me ^^'
If you lift the pad for that top mounting thingy: some super glue should be fine, according to the schematics I found, the pad isn't connected to anything and the spring contact right next to it seems to be GND - so as long as the other mounting thingy isn't a signal or power connection (which wouldn't make sense), it shouldn't be too bad if the newly glued-on mounting thingy touches that spring contact.
Will try to remember reporting back if that works out in the end - but waiting for replacement parts right now.
These are tear downs, not repair guides. You shouldn’t use these as a step-by-step on taking the device apart.

Orange flex looks like grounding flex. It would be nice to see what is other side of that part.
I accidentally poked the sim tool in the microphone instead of the sim tray. It still works, but i’m worried i may have compromised the water resistance… Does anybody have an idea wether or not I did?
No worries, neither the microphone nor the rubber sealing can be damaged by inserting a SIM tool in the microphone hole.

Battery dimensions?
I installed a T-Max Huawei P30 Pro liquid screen protector. I never installed a liquid screen protector before. The kit seemed quite decent. After succesfully installing it, it says to rub off the excess glue with an alcohol wipe which I did. Had some extra glue on the edge of my phone left. The problem is that I noticed some black rubbery thing coming off as well. I think it's the adhesive of my phone. I had to cut it off with my scissors. What's the chance that I ruined my P30 Pro's waterproofness?
Hi, kinda curious how so much alcohol got to the back to losen the adhesive there. This probably won’t affect the water/dust resistance in normal every day usage. According to Huawei’s footnote* to the IP68 rating I’d suggest to not submerge it anyway and avoid under water photography ;)
*HUAWEI P30 Pro is rated IP68 for splash, water, and dust resistance under IEC standard 60529 and was tested under controlled laboratory conditions. Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance may decrease over time with normal use. Do not attempt to charge a wet HUAWEI P30 Pro. Warranty does not cover liquid damage.

Like the comment of the person before me I am interested particularly in the antennas used. Do you have any more information from when you did the breakdown? I have been told by Huawei that a 4x4 MIMO is used but they couldn’t give me anymore information, manufacturer? part number specifics? Is the GPS antenna separate? If so what is it and where is it physically situated? This has been puzzling me for awhile now would really love anything you can add
Yes, there is a vapor chamber between the display and the frame. See updated last picture of step 12, the vertical copper element.
I hear some rattle sound when shake my p30 pro. Comes near camera, top half of back.

Is that screen construction is waterproof enough? My p30 pro is soak on 20cm water in 5 minutes before I know it that is phone is not waterproof anymore (since I bought it second hand.). I do first Aid for water damage phone using rice, Silica. The phone is normal. However After 3 days the screen phone is going glitch and greenish. I’ve done with disassembly phone. I need to know if there any moisture left in display amoled itself.
New batteries should already have those pull tabs pre-installed. If you want to fix your current battery you can use regular double-sided adhesive tape or those iPhone adhesive strips.
What is in charge for wifi and Bluetooth? Is there a chip or antenna?
my “movement sensor” is broken after my phone felt.. My compass, accelometer and gyroscope seem not working.. Are these all related? Where are they located? on the motherboard or can they be replaced? Thank you very much!

Very useful. Great job! I need to know what i need to check if the device is showing -32C degrees and constantly pop up a message that the temp is low and might damage the phone and could switch off to prevent it.
I changed the display /new one was with frame/ and i had to move some pats to the new housing. Everything went ok despite the fact i damaged the orange cable from Step 4.
Could this be the problem or i should look somewhere else?

I replaced the screen of my p30 pro but when i receive a call i hear the caller very weak.is it necessary to glue the speaker to the screen?is that the problem?
Did the new screen come with the counterpart for the structure-borne driver already installed (it’s the part marked L2a 931 in this picture. If not you need to transfer and glue it firmly into place on the new display.
Also, make sure there is no debris between this part and the actual structure-borne driver that could affect the sound ( the driver is the part in the bottom of the same picture).
Dear ifixit Team,
After switching to a new display, my wi-fi connection is a little weaker than before, but especially the bluetooth range has decreased very much, only half a meter guarantees a fluent music transmission. Do you know what antenna or cable might be the reason for this and what should I purchase to try to fix it? Would appreciate any hint!
Hey Guys, I have a P30 Pro that is not doing any loud speaker sound (so no audible ring sound, music, youtube sound, call on loud speaker), I tried replacing the loudspeaker module but it didn’t work (I will try ordering another loudspeaker to try again, don’t know if the first was working), also tried ordering the daughterboard (with the CHIP) as it looks like it has some kind of filter for the audio right under the conector under the armor (or am I wrong?) but the board came without the armor and anything soldered there.
Any advice on what to test, the audio signal come by the big flat cable? Maybe trying to replace it too?
Already done software reset and even downgrade using huawei software.
Don’t know what else I can try to fix it.

Very good article, thank you. I dissembled the phone and replaced the sim card reader and antenna hoping it would now read my sim again. This wasn't the fault it seems. Would it perhaps be the motherboard?
