This model comes with a built in Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 processor and Microsoft WIndows Vista Business as operating system. It also comes with a 667 MHz memory speed and 1GB of RAM. It also has a built in DVD+RW/DVD-RAM optical drive. Its screen is 1280 x 800 (WXGA) wide. It’s hard drive has a capacity of 120 GB with a spindle speed of 5400 rpm. Has a keyboard and touchpad, has a lithium ion 6-cell battery, comes with a 6 in 1 card reader. It has 4 USB slots, 1 headphone jack and 1 microphone jack.

There have been a recalls on compaq 6510b notebook. This was due to the batteries. In this specific notebook the battery contains lithium-ion. This can cause the battery to overheat which can lead to a fire hazard.

Under the laptop to the left hand side there is a sticker which gives the laptops name as well as the serial number and length of warranty. The HP Compaq 6510b, 6515b, 6710b, 6710s, 6715b, 6715s, 6720s are all models that were recalled as of May 21, 2010. Many of these models have been known to come with faulty batteries and have been deemed a fire hazard. If you own any of these models contact HP and confirm that your battery is safe.
