== Background Information ==

The CHI Original is a ceramic flat iron straightener released in 2006 by CHI, a hair-care and spa products company. Although it is a 1-inch straightener, the CHI Original can also be used to smooth, curl, wave, spiral, flip, and bend hair.  It takes 30 seconds to heat up and can go up to 392 degrees Fahrenheit. Moreover, the CHI Original is dual voltage, meaning that it can accept both 110-120V and 220-240V, allowing the device to be travel friendly. The Original uses infrared technology and negative ions to make hair soft and shiny. With ceramic plates, the Original resembles a professional quality styling tool.
