MacBook won't power on, Battery is charging fine - Found blown chip
yesterday my MacBook A1181 died and stopped working. It was in sleep mode over night. In the morning I wanted to start up but no reaction. It has no water damage. No white LED, no noise, nothing. The battery is charging very fine! I tried SMC Reset but no chance, it stays dead.
Then I removed the topcase and inspected the Logic Board. The power on via shorting 2 solder points has also no reaction.
Directly behind the LAN socket there is a chip with a black tape on it. I removed the tape and the top of the chip came also with the tape. I can look inside the chip and see 4 copper rings. The top of the chip is labeled with
" TDK 6T213LF"
I googled it and it is a power transformer. Could this be the reason why my MacBook wont start?
Here is a pic of the chip: http://comtroniq.de/chip.jpg

In ebay I found several faulty Logic Boards, all of them have the same chip in the same condition (no top and look burned)
Another site says that the chip is a LAN controller.
Can someone give me some hints about that chip?
Thanks and best regards,
