Why is my car engines have sound

We really need a year, as a lot of these LRs before the LRJ acquisition use the BMW V8 (~2003-2005, BMW M62TU 4.4L V8), which is known for timing chain guide issues which are catastrophic and create the same noises, and the cost often totals it out :-(. Pending a video or something to show the sounds, it might be a BMW timing chain guide issue as a lot of LRs used BMW drivetrains for a while before LRJ took over. The BMW VVTI (VANOS) system is also a known issue as well. If the chain is bad, you will be able to tell by the slack and sometimes you have a few missing pieces from the guides that are visibly cracked that are already lost. If you see brown or orange plastic in the oil filter and the pan, it's a goner.

Even the BMW X SUVs have the same terrible V8s which blow through timing chain guides, so it's just a BMW thing if you have one of those. They always end up in scrapyards because the cost of repair exceeds the value of the vehicle, especially in inspection states like NY, NJ and MD. The same engine and it's later models like the M62 based on the one in those LRs caused similar grief for years in the BMW chassis, so it's known. Inspection states catch them dead in their tracks on a regular basis.
