Get the OBDII port scanned with a scantool to check if any DTC codes have been logged.
If there is a code and it is applicable to the cruise control feature, the code will tell you what the problem is.
Larger retail auto parts chains in the USA e.g. AutoZone, PepBoys, O'Reilleys etc will do this for free apparently

Are we by any chance talking about the *cruise control* not working? 'Cause curses aren't really our bailiwick; you might want to ask a Wiccan about that.

What is the year, model (1500, 2500, 3500) and engine size (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L 6.6L, 8.1L) of the vehicle?

No dash lights then most likely culprit is faulty brake light switch. Could also be blown fuse or broken wires in dash but those are rear compared to brake light switch that is a box attached to the brake. Contacts wear out and don't contact as they should. Replace the switch. Still doesn't work check fuses and if that doesn't work get ready for everyone's favorite game "Find That Short" in the steering column. I hope it not that. Good luck.
