My GamePad has to be right by the console to work, like less than a foot away. I am thinking the WI-FI (MICA2) chip needs to be replaced. But please do tell if I am wrong about the WI-FI chip or not.
If it helps, the GamePad came like that when I bought it.

Hi!
Did you bought it recently? Otherwise I would return it and ask for another one or a refund.
Anyway, it’s most likely related to the antenna cables. Are they still connected as it should be? Please check them and replace them first if possible.
I don’t think it’s the board, but if replacing the cables didn’t worked, then I would replace the board anyway and see how it goes.
