How to remove the plastic viewfinder cover on my Sony a6100

I recently bought a Sony a6100 off eBay and when I received it I noticed the glass shield on the electronic viewfinder was broken. I talked to the seller and it seems it might have broken during transit. I was able to find a piece of replacement glass online, but to install it I will need to remove the plastic viewfinder cover. I believe I have the right equipment, but I need some guidance on how to install it to prevent any possible mistakes. I’ve attached a photo of what exactly it is I’m looking to remove. Thank you.

@iheal the disassembly is not as complex as you might think.

Here is the disassembly flow to get to the VF (View Finder Block) and here is what needs to be done to work on it

Right, the repair isn't as brutal as it was on DSLRs but brutal enough for a novice to get tripped up. I could probably do it if I got the camera for very cheap and repair it, but I know if the EVF module (not the cover) is also bad it's a very expensive job. The cover that broke on the OP is on the back where the LCD sits.

@nick all that is shown in the SM as well. It really is not a terribly complicated task.

This looks doable. I will try it; if it gets too complicated, I'll stop and put it back together from there. I still have time to return it, so if it doesn't work, then I'll do that. Thank you for the info!

It's part of the EVF cover and there's no way to remove it :-(. Send it back unless you can do the repair and can get a partial refund, do not take this camera broken without a discount. Thankfully you just need the cover but it's a lot to do as you need to disassemble half the camera. Not as bad as many DSLRs but you will find it's more complex then it seems on paper.
