EDID Locked by Lenovo/ HP

Hello.

I am new to this forum but not the products and hoping someone has a work around for my issue.

I am currently replacing two LCD touch screens on two Chromebooks. One is an Lenovo idea-pad 3 and the other is an HP Chromebook 14 G7. The screens are working great with the exception on the touch screen because the EDID is locked.

I know there is software (that I do not have access to) for this issue and I did reimage with external with no luck.

Both Lenovo and HP will only fix it and reset the EDID if I send in them in for screen replacement/ repair?

These devices are assigned to a low income students with IEPs for touch screens so I ordered refurbished screens to keep costs low and I am really hoping to figure this out.

Thank you in advance!
