Does flexy cable attached to the back cover cause problems when cut?

What's the use of the flexy cable attached to the back cover on my galaxy A520f and what effect can it cause if broken, torn or cut?

I checked two different guides and a video, and none of them show any indication there's anything at all attached via a flex cable to the rear battery cover of your phone. Generally those are used for fingerprint sensors, if present.

Are you sure of the model number?
