I have the above machine and it won't work, it makes the usual noise from the main motor on start up, then the screen shoes heating up as usual (but its not heating) And after approx 2 minutes the screen shows general alarm. I have replaced the heating element but this did not solve it. Just hoping theres a delonghi expert here, before i fire the parts cannon again! Since posting I removed the water pump and applied 240v and it works.

@midy Will the new heater get hot? Proof it using the testmode. If not, I suppose a defective motherboard, probably a broken triac. Do the 230 V reach the heater? (Be very careful when measuring!).

The heater does not get hot to touch. I don't know how to put this machine in test mode?
Which model is it? Esam????. (See sticker on the bottom)

I translate the most important points:
Set the main switch on the back of the appliance to 1 (Device must be in standby, TFT screen dark).
Open the service door, press buttons 1 , 2 , 3 (Upper left touch, Upper right touch, Cappuccino, See PDF) simultaneously until SELECT TEST MODE appears on the TFT
screen , now release the 3 buttons and close the service door , select a
test mode within 1 - 2 seconds .
SEVERAL DIFFERENT TEST MODES CAN BE SELECTED !
Press the MILK button to start the HIPOT TEST.
Components and switches are automatically tested by the KVA one aft
The CAPPUCCINO button starts the POWER LOAD TEST.
The following key assignment can be used for testing :
Chocolate = Electrovalve 3
Cafelatte = Pump
Cappuccino = Heater
Latte macchiato = eV2
Milk = EV1
Long = Grinder
Upper left touch = Motor up
Lower left touch= Motor down
Upper right touch= Motor for chocolate
Lower right touch = Steam
Thanks for this - great help. All components tested and all appears to work properly. Heater heats up etc. I'm starting to wonder if its the pump that is not generating enough flow/pressure?
