How do I adjust the laser power on the DVD?

So, my camcorder can on read DVD-R, Not DVD-RW. I had the exact same model a few years ago that wrote the video to those discs, and the discs are fine because they read to my computer. Also, I have checked that the spindle, laser carrige assembly and laser are working. Also, a the CD-R mentionined above worked fine on my computer, but needed cleaning to work on the camcorder, which leads me to beileve that the laser is weak, Also just curious, what is the difference between DVD-108 and DVD 108E. Both of mine are just 108

@vighneshrath check for a trim pot on the laser assembly. On a laser you do not really adjust the voltages but the resistance. You need to know what it is before you start changing values, otherwise you are going to burn out your laser. So, look for a trim pot on the laser flex to board VC483, also check that board. Adjusting lasers is usually not a lasting fix. Personally, I would replace the laser since that would be the safer alternative. Here is the guide for that Sony DCR-DVD 108 DVD Laser Replacement.

Now, if you want to further work on the laser diode etc. download the SM level 2 and 3 from this page Sony DCR-DVD 108 right under the Document heading.

Just adjusted it, and it worked. For anyone else, turn it clock wise by very little. If doesn’t detect the disc, turn it more. It should eventually read but pop up with the error Cl:13,02.clean the disc, if that doesn’t work; turn it more.

Can someone post a tutorial? It's very difficult to know the exact position and I'm scared of burning out the laser

@lilacinfo post some good pictures of your lasers layout etc. so we can see the trimpots and hopefully can get you some more pointers. Number one is you NEED a multimeter.
