The Nintendo DS is Nintendo's seventh generation handheld game console and is the first of its kind across all systems with dual-screen technology and use, apart from clamshell Game & Watch systems.

Why does the power light turn green then orange then shut off?

I am currently fixing an old Nintendo DS. I had put in a battery and by the fact that the bottom screen flashed but the top didn't, I replaced the top screen ribbon. However, when I closed up the new shell (old one was destroyed) and put in the battery to try and power it, it didn't turn on at all other than the power going green, then turning orange then shutting off. Unlike before, the screen doesn't even flash. Any ideas as to what may be wrong?

Hi there!

This is strange. Did you double checked if everything is connected properly? How are the battery pins? Could you share some pictures with us regarding the motherboard? It’s most likely motherboard related..

Thanks for the pictures! Everything is connected as it should be and can’t see any component that physically failed. Please check the fuses (labeled with F) with a continuity test. Also check the EM10 labeled on the motherboard. If all of them are fine, it’s easier to get a new motherboard… sorry.
