wont power on after HDD & Optical drive replacement.

I have installed a new Optical Drive and a new HDD in my '08 MBP. The orange tape has lost it's stickiness, but the HDD and uppercase ribbons "appear" to be well seated.

2 external case, 1 x 10mm Torx (under the RAM shield) and 2 of the 3 RAM shield screws have gone missing, thanks to my kids, but otherwise the machine reassembles completely.

Battery in, power adapter attached, hit the power button and absolutely nothing happens.

Any idea what I have done wrong?

Just go back and review each step of the parts replacement and ensure all connections are proper and nothing left undone. Usually in a case like this something simple was missed on the assembly phase. Good luck.

Check the ribbon cable connector at the logic board. You could use logic board jumpers to determine if the ribbon or button is at fault if you're positive that the connector(ion) is good.

I tried jumping the Power points, to the right of the right hand fan but absolutely nothing happened.

Anything else I can try?

Thanks!
