Repair information and troubleshooting for the Dell Latitude E7240. This is a 12.5 inch computer with a 4th generation Intel processor, introduced in 2014.

Says that windows failed to start, freezes when loading drivers.

Says that windows failed to start, freezes when loading drivers. Also says clock isnt set right and anything i try plugging in fails to load. Ive updated bios to ?29? Still same thing. Diagnostics says hdd is bad but i have a ssd in there that im told should work

It also gives me a clock issue, it's because my CMOS battery is dead and I haven't replaced it yet. Keep pressing f12 to enter into "one time boot menu" and select what you want to boot off

Sounds like the CMOS battery is dead.
