Can you replace the circuit boards on an external hard drive?
I accidentally plugged in my laptop power cable to my WD external hard drive and basically fried the power source.
I placed the hard drive in a separate external case and when I tried to power it on nothing happened, but when I unplugged the hard drive from the external case the case lit up and the fan turned on instantly. I don't have any testing equipment out here, but I did notice a lot of the circuit board had burn spots most likely where it was also fried once the power adapter was removed. Is there any way to salvage the drive or replace the parts? I'm not educated in the arts of soldering either so sadly that's a no go as well.

Ok, so I looked at the model number and it's WD30EZRS - 00J99B0 would that PCB still work with that model?
