will not run new apps
The apps that came with it or after update work, but any new app from the store only starts and then goes away.
is this a bad 8 GB 3rd Gen? i got it at christmas from amazon

your iPod touch hardware is probably fine, it's more likely a software issue perhaps needing a reset or restore.
