My 5th generation ipod nano was washed. Instead of drying it out it was turned on and the battery is messed up. It will run while it is plugged up to a power source. The only problem is that it will not hold a charge. Will putting a replacement battery in fix this problem?

katherine, if your iPod runs while plugged in at the dock connector, and if it syncs with iTunes etc. Than I am certain a new battery will repair it. Once you have it disassembled using this guide I'd also clean it with isopropyl alcohol to prevent corrosion and trouble down the road. Just a quick reminder, working on the Nano is a PITA and will require some patience. Read the guide a couple of times and make sure you understand all the little steps. Hope this helps, good luck.
