Every time the battery goes to 0%, the computer won't charge again

I have a 2022 MacBook Pro 14". It worked PERFECTLY until this summer when it was sitting on a table inside, the sun shifted, and suddenly the laptop was in full sunlight and overheated VERY hot. Since then, every time the power drops to 0%, the computer will not restart, or even charge - no led light on charging cable, etc. At first, if I waited a couple days, sometimes it will start to charge again at random, and then work fine, turn on/off, charge normally.....but if the power ever drops to 0%. Forget it. It will no longer turn on, no longer charges, no longer registers any sort of led light on the charging cable.

I took it to a guy overseas (where I live) and he told me he reset the thermal overheating sensor and something about the screen closing sensor???. We then charged/discharged a full charge cycle after which it turned off and on as usual.

This last week, the power was left on for some reason and went down to 0% again. Now I can't turn it on, it won't charge, and I'm wondering If there's a way I can reset the sensor or whatever is wrong to get it working again.

Even more so, what in the world is the problem with my laptop?

Sadly, there are quite a few possible issues and as you can’t get the system running there is not enough to offer an answer.

Things that might help is making sure the charger is good does the MagSafe-3 plug LED light and what color Amber or Green? If using a USB-C connected charger is it the correct wattage and you are using the proper USB-C cable as you need one that supports the higher current a Mac requires (thicker wire gage and wired for power delivery).

Using the proper USB-C cable and plugging in a USB-C power meter inline with your system what is it showing you? Is the amperage and voltage jumping or at stated state?

As mentioned in my original post, the charger LED light does not turn on at all. I have used two separate chargers and cables. Both work perfectly fine on other laptops and are standard OEM. The problem is not the cord or charger, but the computer itself.

@tutclan - So is the problem the MagSafe port in the system? Are you able to power the system via a USB-C connection?

Do you have access to an inline USB-C power meter to see what it tells you.
