Replaced my keyboard but it doesn't work, is it the connectors fault?

I switched my screen for a new one and also changed the keyboard, but the keyboard is not working . Is the replacement keyboard cable the only thing that could be causing it to not work? Or is there something else that i could’ve done wrong

If anyone has replaced the newer model keyboards and has some knowledge to spare, let me know, because repair on keyboards is not really talked about

Oh also it’s not the trackpad and keyboard to logic board cables fault, because the trackpad is working properly.

There are two cables involved in connecting the keyboard to the logic board, the keyboard cable which connects to the Touchpad and then a combo function cable which carries both sets of signals to the logic board.

As you didn't tell us if the Touchpad is working or not thats what we can tell you right now. Also how did you replace the Keyboard? did you replace the full uppercase assembly or rip-out the old keyboard only as it was liquid damaged and replace the keyboard alone.

The touchpad is working properly so that’s not the problem. I ripped out only the old keyboard, installed a new one but reused the old backlight.

@heyoo - I would inspect the Touchpad connection point both sides for a bent contacts on either.

@heyoo did you end up finding the source of your issue? I'm having keyboard issues after a water damage and am experiencing similar symptoms. Was your replacement keyboard DRM compatible with your logic board?
