How to replace 3ds game card slot?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to replace the game card slot of the nintendo 3ds. Is it the same procedure as the replacement of the game card slot of the 3ds XL or do I need to replace the whole circuit board?

Looking at it, it's soldered onto the 3DS motherboard, whereas on the 3DS XL it's a separate daughter board. I guess either break out the soldering iron, or buy a whole new motherboard!
