Why is my screen flickering green vertical lines?

I have a MacBook 13” 2018 and the one day it was working perfectly and then all of a sudden started flickering green verticals lines on a black screen. It then started flickering pink vertical blocks along with the green lines. When started up in safe more the flickering stops. Can someone please advise me on what the problem may be and how to go about fixing it?

Thank you.

Ouch! Not good ☹️

Your display assembly has failed! What you are seeing is the difference in the scan rate. The normal scan rate is much higher than when in Safe Mode. To prove this you need to connect an external monitor in Clam Shell Mode

How to Display Macbook on Monitor When Closed (Clamshell Mode)

Here the external monitor can run at the higher scan rate.

To repair this you’ll need a new display MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Mid 2018-Mid 2019) Display Assembly and here’s the guide to put it in 2018款MacBook Pro 13英寸带触控栏版本屏幕更换指南
