X button acting as PS button, and Constantly in pairing mode
I have a very strange problem with my PS5 controller.
The first problem is that the X button acts as the PS button, but only sometimes. The X button still works as normal, but it's like pressing down both buttons. I'm using PC and can see that buttons 2 and 13 (X and PS) are being activated when X is pressed. PS button works as normal.
The next issue is that when I disconnect the controller from a USB cable to my PC, it will flash blue like it's looking for devices to connect to, and won't stop until the battery dies. I've tried resetting it and it didn't work.
Finally, when using Bluetooth, it will connect and work fine for a range of 5 minutes to 1 hour, then disconnect (this is not an issue with my PC's BT, works fine with other devices). And once it disconnects, it will automatically try and re-connect without me touching anything (like the PS button has been pressed) and then reconnect, then immediately disconnect and cycle until the battery dies.
I have tried (in no particular order);
- Factory resetting
- Updating firmware
- Removing battery and reconnecting
- Removing motherboard and other cables etc and re-connecting
- Removing BT driver's and reinstalling
- The usual "turn it off and on again" for both my PC and controller
