remote switch not working

I was using a wired remote switch from Vello until it broke recently. I got a new Vello switch but it didn't work and I tried another one from Kiwifotos with no luck. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the camera port or if the switches are faulty. Suggestions appreciated.
