Is the Inspire 2 repairable?

So long story short, my puppy found my fitbit and munched it. It doesn't LOOK like it has a whole lot of damage beyond the teeth scratches, but it will not charge. I've tried doing the restarting trick, but if the battery is dead, of course it won't do anything. I've also "cleaned" it (it wasnt really dirty), but still nothing. It turned on for a split second when I tried to plug it in for the very first time, and it only showed the clock before the dead battery symbol flashed and shutting off for the final time. I'm thinking one of the copper prongs that the charger sticks to was damaged, therefore not letting it charge because it has poor contact.

So my question is: do I need to buy a new one or can I pop it open and repair it? Is it worth the trouble? FitBit told me they don't have a repair warehouse, and of course since it's my fault, not a manufacturing error, it's not covered under warranty (also I think I've had it for more than a year).

I bought it on sale so It's not a big heartbreak, but if I can save some money, I'd like to.
