Can't turn on the lap top

My home electricity was shut off for an unpaid bill for a week. My lap top was on the charger put on the electricity network. After the electricity came back my lap top (still attached to electricity network) couldn't turn on. It was dead.

I went to some local computer company and they tested some basic stuff like we changed the CMOS battery, hit reset button. They also tested the power jack from inside and there was power coming in the lap top .

They weren't specialised to go further and told me to take it elsewhere. Couldn't blame them they do what they know. Me myself I disconect the lap top battery thinking that it was damaged and tried to run with out it. I wasn't lucky, still dead. Any adivice what could be the problem ?

I know this wont help now but in the future, every one, unplug any electronics when there is a power outage. This will avoid damage that a surge may cause when the power comes suddenly back on.

It's possible that when the electricity was shut off at your home, there was a power surge or power outage that damaged your laptop's internal components. This can happen when power is suddenly restored after an outage or when a surge of electricity flows through the power lines.

Based on your description, it seems like the power jack is working and there is power coming into the laptop. This means that the issue is likely with the internal components of the laptop, such as the motherboard or the power supply.

Without further diagnosis, it's hard to say for sure what the issue is, but here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Disconnect all external devices: Disconnect all external devices from your laptop, including the power cord, USB devices, and any other peripherals.
  2. Perform a hard reset: Perform a hard reset on your laptop by removing the battery and unplugging the power cord. Hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any remaining power, then plug the power cord back in and try turning on the laptop.
  3. Test the power supply: If the hard reset doesn't work, try testing the power supply using a multimeter. You can use the multimeter to check the voltage and amperage coming from the power supply to see if it's working properly.
  4. Take it to a professional: If none of these steps work, it may be best to take your laptop to a professional for further diagnosis and repair. They can check the internal components and determine if there are any issues that need to be addressed.

Overall, it's possible that the power surge or outage damaged your laptop's internal components, but further diagnosis is needed to determine the exact issue and what needs to be done to fix it.
