no dirt in upper tray

Here is what the service manual recommends:"Verify the vacuum is unobstructed. Take out grill, spin impeller and shake out any dirt. Inspect the filter to make sure it is not punctured and letting particles into the impeller.

Verify the vacuum contacts are clean.

If sounds loud or is dead replace unit

I have just experienced that problem. There is a part that turns the brushes, (the brushes do not spin in mine). The part that turns the brushes is burned out. Some sort of motor. My roomba still runs, but does not pick up dirt. That is the solution to my problem. Fixing it is a question I have not found.
