Battery stopped working after a couple of weeks after replacement

Hello iFixit community.

I am having an issue with my Early 2015 13" Macbook pro.

I installed a new iFixit battery using the iFixit guide with no issues at all.

The battery worked amazingly and the computer was like new again.

All of a sudden the computer wouldn’t charge and won’t recognise the battery anymore. The charger stays on orange and I cant use my laptop unless its plugged in with the charger.

I have reset the SMC and downloaded coconut battery with no luck. There is a screenshot below from coconut battery for your reference:

I have used my laptop everyday for about 3 weeks since installing the battery with no issues until now.

Is the new battery faulty? Please help as this is my work and personal computer and I go overseas in a couple of weeks for work.

Thank you, Jai

Unfortunately, It looks like the exact same issue has happened again after Ifixit sent me a new replacement battery.

The issue has happened in the exact same way within roughly the same amount of time.

As you can see here by the coconut battery screenshot, the battery is no longer recognised:

My computer does not show a battery icon in the menu bar and it will not turn on unless plugged into the power.

Is there something wrong with my laptop or is there something wrong with this batch of batteries that Ifixit are sending me?

Please help. I am stumped.

Cheers, Jai

Sounds like the battery control board is dead!

Ask Ifixit for a replacement battery

Thank you for your answer. Is this apart of the battery itself?

Ifixit replaced the entire battery with another one after I emailed them.

Unfortunately the problem has occurred in exactly the same way again after a similar amount of use.

Is this the fault of Ifixit and their batteries or is it something to do with my logic board?

I am very confused with why this is happening and cannot find a solution.

Cheers,

Definitely a bad battery. Check the voltage a battery board connecors if you are getting 12V or More than logicboard is good. it happens some time with aftermarket batteries.
