Issue with logic board, display or LVDS cable?

I have a MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015. One day I came back home to find my built in display glitching.

First, the image would flicker and shift sideways to the left, leaving the right most part of the screen black.

Restarted the computer, the screen kept doing the same thing, then it started showing artifacts on the screen, where a few pixels on the screen would change color randomly and then it turned completely black. Haven't been able to get an image on the built-in display since.

The backlight still works, (I can increase and decrease brightness) and when connected to an external display via HDMI everything works perfectly.

Built-in display is still detected by macOS.

I should also mention that 1 year ago, I dropped my Macbook on the floor and had the black screen issue. Fixed it by reseating the LVDS cable.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this issue? Is it a faulty screen? Logic board? Or LVDS cable?

Sadly this sounds like a failing display. To prove it connect an external display to your system if the external shows a clean image then its time for a new display assembly which will also include a new LVDS cable. External display works perfectly as I said in OP.

Is there a way to know for certain that the screen is the problem? I don't want to spend that much money for a replacement, for it to be caused by the logic board.

@turismo98 - You didn't state you tried an external display directly on your system you could have remotely connected to see the system was working, but thats not the same thing as getting a direct video signal.

"Haven't been able to get an image on the built-in display since."

If you had connected an external display via the combo Thunderbolt/mini Display Ports or HDMI port of your system then you've proved the issue is not within the logic board and only within the internal display.

@turismo98 - Thanks for your edit as that clarifies you have indeed a bad display assembly.

@danj

I got it working again!

I bought the appropriate screw drivers from a local shop. Followed the steps in the link you sent and disassembled the whole thing. I removed the LVDS cable from the logic board and the screen, then replugged it in. Turned it on, and the screen lit up and started working with no issues.
