I have an iPhone 5s and the home button is completely dead. It clicks, but does nothing else. I know that if I replace the home button, I will lose the touch id funtionality, because a chip on the original button is paired to the motherboard. My questions are:

the touch id part is under the glass of the button and even tho it could technically be transferred it wouldnt be and easy job and most competent technicians wouldnt even attempt doing it. buy a replacement button to check if its the button thats actually the issue
